When they continue to re-experience the trauma and the resulting anxiety interferes with their ability to function in their everyday life, this may be PTSD. PTSD can cause memory difficulties that can be disabling. Therapy can provide relief from intrusive memories, nightmares, and difficulties with thinking straight.
